Fearlessly be yourself

Anthony Rapp created one of my favorite quotes: "There is only one of you for all time. Fearlessly be yourself."

Powerful words. Imagine them in action. People try to "silly putty" themselves into a mold to get a job, to win someone's heart or approval or to appear to be someone they are not. It's exhausting!

True, honest, authentic, deep relationships only develop from trust and trust can't be gained if folks can't figure out who you really are. And to do that you have to trust yourself and trust others. If you learn something about yourself that you don't like, you have all the power in the world to change it.

I know someone who claims to be "brutally honest." That's a pass she gives herself to be mean and unkind to others. She gets something out of that, but one thing she doesn't get is deep friendship.

I've made a decision to fearlessly be myself and those working with the Idea Emporium will get just that. Some may like it; others won't. But we'll be impeccable with our word and yours and always try to have a fun time working together. After all, there is only one of you for all time! Let's take you out for a test drive!
